We’re looking for a dynamic, solutions focused Technical Project Administrator to join our service centre in Aberdeen.

R&B Switchgear Group has provided world-class power engineering solutions to a global client base since 1985. Specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of LV and HV switchgear and associated assets, we provide turnkey solutions to some of the world’s largest blue-chip companies.

Your new role

This role is a stepping stone into project management within the Oil, Gas & Utilities service arena whilst supporting your technical development in the industry, based in the R&B Aberdeen Service Centre, the global gateway to the offshore oil & gas industry, you will be the lynch pin for the delivery of all project & office support.

Working within a very experienced projects team your future will be in good hands, as a key member of the team you will play a pivotal role in the end to end project lifecycle from initial enquiry to project close out as you take responsibility for the coordination of goods in and out of the workshop, ensuring the safe, secure, and timely despatch of R&B’s products from our Aberdeen Service Centre, ensuring all office equipment & supplies, including tools and equipment is available and ready for the site teams, transportation, packaging, labelling, and documentation are in place ensuring compliance with both legal and company requirements.

Upkeep and maintain accurate records such as training and up to dates certification, dispatch notes, purchase orders, stock inventories and invoices whilst keeping teams informed of delivery progress to prevent delays. You will also liaise with our Head office where required.

You will ensure that all office and project related goods are ordered, in stock, handled, stored, and transport activities are carried out in line with company procedures and regulatory standards. This includes verifying that PPE and safe handling practices are followed, maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment, and escalating risks where required. You will promote a culture of health, safety and compliance by setting the right example, ensuring colleagues follow best practice.

 

Your responsibilities
  • Act as the central coordination point for project and office support within the Aberdeen Service Centre

  • Coordinate goods in and out of the workshop, including packing, despatch, receipt and unpacking of equipment

  • Arrange engineer travel, accommodation and site logistics

  • Order and manage project spares, consumables, tools and office supplies

  • Maintain accurate records including purchase orders, dispatch notes, stock levels, asset registers and invoices

  • Monitor engineer certifications and training status, scheduling refreshers where required

  • Liaise with couriers, freight forwarders, third-party inspectors and internal teams to ensure timely, compliant delivery

  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues

  • Ensure PPE, tools and service kits are available, compliant and ready for site teams

  • Support a safe, organised and compliant workshop and office environment

Your skills and background
  • Essential:

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project support, logistics, despatch or operations (UK-based)

    • Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills

    • Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    • High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

    • Confident working across multiple teams and priorities

    Desirable:

    • Experience within engineering, electrical, offshore, oil & gas or utilities sectors

    • Familiarity with industry standards, compliance and safe handling practices

    • Exposure to project coordination or project management principles
