HEYWOOD, UK – Power engineering specialist R&B Switchgear Group has expanded its senior management team with the appointment of David Johnston, signalling the company’s next phase of growth and a sharpened focus on the oil and gas market.
Johnston joins the business as Head of Projects (Oil & Gas), bringing more than 30 years of experience spanning engineering, service leadership and business transformation.
A seasoned industry expert, Johnston began his career as an engineer at Reyrolle, where he gained an in-depth technical foundation in switchgear and power systems before moving into various leadership roles, including UK Head of Service Contracts with Siemens.
Johnston will be charged with leading R&B’s strategic expansion within the oil and gas division, paving the way for new service offerings and enhanced operational excellence across LV and HV power distribution projects.
His experience in utilities and service transformation will strengthen the Group’s technical capabilities and help supercharge its service delivery for customers operating in critical energy sectors.
Johnston’s appointment marks another step in the Group’s strategy to invest in best-in-class talent and infrastructure, ensuring it continues to deliver five-star service across its global operations.
